Details & Pricing

Natalie Schindler Photography provides on-location lifestyle photography to Dayton, OH's Mommy's-to-be, newborns, children, & families!

Session Fee
The $300 session fee includes my time, talent, professional retouching/enhancements & a digital CD. Your images tell a story and I know how much families treasure owning their digital files. It’s nice to have the flexibility to reprint your photographs whenever you want. This is why you’ll receive 20-25 hand-selected and custom edited digital photographs on CD.

(Please note: A $125 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your date.)

Session Times
Standard sessions usually last between 1-2 hours. I find that when photographing small children this amount of time allows for snacks, breaks, and outfit changes. Newborn sessions ($350) are typically longer, lasting around three hours on average. We will follow the baby’s lead with lots of time for diaper changes, nursing, etc. I try to keep things relaxed and stress-free.

Locations
Newborn sessions take place in your home. I will come prepared with props – i.e., blankets, headbands, bean bag, etc. to make sure the images we capture will be unique and special to you and your family. I prefer to photograph children and families in locations that are meaningful to them. This can mean your living room or a neighborhood park. If you need a little help deciding I’m happy to recommend some of my favorite spots. Just let me know what kind of feel you are going for, and I can help you find a location that’s perfect for you.

When to Book
In order to ensure my clients get a wonderful photography experience from start to finish, I offer a limited number of sessions each month. It is best to contact me well in advance to secure your session date, as I typically book out at least a month in advance. Newborn sessions should be booked before the baby is born, as I find that the perfect window for newborn portraiture is 5-7 days. I understand that little one’s arrivals can be unpredictable, so I pencil the due date into my calendar and leave some openings in my schedule around that time. We will then agree on the session date after the birth of your baby.

Styling Your Session
I love to photograph details in my child and family sessions. I find details add interest and help to jog the memory when looking back at images of a time gone by. By details I mean the everyday objects that your child holds dear at the moment. A detail might be the blanket that has become lovingly worn because your baby won’t part with it for a second; or a vintage basket that you truly love that we’ll fill with strawberries at our session at Hidden Valley Farm. This will require taking a little time before hand to plan, but the results are oh-so-worth-it in the end!

Weather
Living in Dayton, weather can be an issue. If the weather doesn’t cooperate on the date we’ve picked I will make every effort to ensure that your session is rescheduled to a date that is convenient for all involved.
